Lyon Airport is France’s fourth busiest airport and is currently undergoing a €215million investment with the goal of making it the main access point to the south east of the country.

Working with Rogers Stirk Harbour & Partners Architects and contractor Bouygues, Dolphin advised on the most fitting washroom design for the terminal.

More than 9.5 million passengers’ travel through the building each year and with the new ‘Future Terminal 1’, this capacity is set to increase to 15million by 2020.

The new terminal covers more than 70,000sqm and aims to be a hub of activity and exceed passenger expectations. The high footfall building will include a rich and diverse shopping centre at the heart of the terminal while using the very latest in technology to enhance the quality of service. The terminal has also committed itself to a Grenelle 2 environment plan, which aims to be carbon neutral (excluding aircrafts) and to improve the energy performance of its existing buildings.

Velocity Hand Dryers

Dolphin Solution’s Velocity behind mirror hand dryers were a perfect solution for such a high footfall location.

Velocity hand dryers have been expertly designed to save space and improve sustainability. With an operating power of only 1,000w, the hand dryers offer an energy saving of up to 80% due to the infrared sensors, making them an ideal solution for a cutting edge environment, with energy savings at the forefront of design.

The behind mirror aspect maintains the sleek look of the washroom while being a pleasure to use, effortlessly meeting the design requirements of any high-use commercial environment.
